It took me overdosing on Tylenol. They asked why I tried unaliving myself. I told them I wasn’t I just didn’t want to be in pain and if I died in the process I didn’t care. They immediately got me into pain management and he listened!

My husband and I both have terrible back problems. I've been on pain management for years, and he refused to go to the Dr. Well, he FINALLY WENT yesterday, and they put him on pain medication. He's so full of life today. He even felt well enough to carve pumpkins with our daughter, and helped me make dinner. Pain management SAVES LIVES! 💯

After 12 months of up to 8 hrs a day in excruciating pain, loss of my career, fighting for disability and forced in to bankruptcy I attempted suicide. Thankfully I survived and finally got help but I wish I had never got there. My last ER visit a week prior I begged for help (not drugs bc narcotics made my situation worse) I was brushed aside like a drug seeker. It lead to my darkest moment. Pain is brutal. in the worst of my pain, I begged my family to help me die😢effective pain real DOES EXIST and is available, because eventually I was put on fentanyl patch with oral morphine, they just don’t want to give it you no matter what to protect themselves

endo and severe adehsions covering your whole pelvic organs I told them if yous send me home ill be back later in and it will be in a body bag chronic pain is awful x

Restricting access to legal opioids didn’t cure any of the drug epidemic, it just ensured that addicts died from more dangerous street drugs. They use addiction as the excuse to torture those with chronic pain disorders by never allowing them any relief and it’s ridiculous. Opioids should be accessible and legal.

Pain management is just a group of people in pain telling people they are in pain. They literally did nothing but give me tips I went for 8 weeks to be told how I should manage pain oh and I waited a year to do the course x

Just found out I have endometriosis inside my lungs after 11 years of pain and being told it's anxiety, while also having an auto-immune disease and suffering medical malpractice that put me in a wheelchair since I had my daughter 15 months ago, so yes, it is that deep, pain management saves lives🫶

I actually was so stunned when I was prescribed oxy for my broken ankle this week. I wasn’t prescribed anything for a perforated appendectomy or right humerus fx!

Unfortunately many doctors don’t believe women when we say we are in pain. There’s so many accusations of seeking pain medicine for the wrong reasons. I constantly suffer with pain while dealing with cancer. I’m too ashamed to ask for help anymore

Yes. No one knows what it is like to be in severe pain constantly. Relief is all you think about. Hang in there. If you ever need someone reach out. And keep searching until you find a doctor who can and is willing to help

So very true! Chronic pain grinds you down over the minutes, hours, days, months and years. I realise that I have been lucky because my doctor listens to me. I also have a supportive husband and children. I dread to think how I would feel if my doctor was impatient and just told me to lose weight and exercise, which happens to SO many women - medical misogyny is a dangerous thing.

also pain management plus sleeping meds. does NOT make me suicidal. stop sticking me in the psych ward for telling you that the meds that I were prescribed make me feel weird and calling it an overdose 🙃

I have been treated horribly during Endo flares. I had my first hospital stay where I felt heard. until they practically threw me out still in pain. appt with Endo excision specialist next month. I'm sick of fighting 😭

my husband has been prescribed tramadol and cocodamol for various things and has had them on repeat for 5 years yesterday the doctor said oh yeah we took them off, no tapering, no warning, no alternatives nothing just gone AND he has a physical job.

I accidentally became addicted to 7 oh because I couldn't stand the pain anymore. I've been going to the doctor for chronic pain since I was 15 and I'm 47 now. I've had nerve burning and tried different things but nothing ever worked. I ended up on suboxone because of the addiction. It has helped tremendously but now I have to worry about losing my teeth. If I had a regular prescription of opiods I wouldn't have gotten into this situation.
