@dailymail: New York City is expanding its free childcare program for 2-year-olds, with 10,000 additional places set to open in fall 2027. Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the plans, which will extend the program into more neighborhoods, including across the Bronx and Staten Island. The expansion could save families around $25,000 a year in childcare costs, easing a major financial burden for working parents. The program will eventually cover 22 of the city's 32 school districts, giving more families access to affordable early childcare. #mamdani #nyc #newyork #childcare #usa
