@justinewalks: Building designed by architect Henry Hobson Richardson and began construction in 1971. Frederick Law Olmsted designed the grounds. All the architects, designers and even doctors worked together to design the grounds to be a calming, open air and bright space for people residing in the center. They believed the best way to heal mental health was through natural light, ventilation and scenic views of the landscape. The campus is now home to the Richardson Hotel, which is just in the center renovated part of the building. The further wings are fenced off and untouched for the most part. It looks like some construction is happening, but hopefully someone can come in and restore the entire campus to be used in a new way that benefits the community. 🤞
