im disabled and all the chores were flat out ada non compliant. cuz what do you mean id be charged different and given a bad rating because i cant even reach the shelves/sink to do dishes while in a wheelchair. I cant even book an Airbnb anymore because I can't do their little chores or trust their accessibility. ive even had an Airbnb host ask me to leave my wheelchair outside because it would scuff their floors. mind you they have a ramp and advertised themselves as accessible which is why I chose them.

they’re already on their airbnb host reddit page trying to find work arounds and emailing their HOAs to add new bylaws about daytime guests and pretending that someone paying to stay at your house is the same as letting a friend crash there

Airbnb was good when it started but greed took over and at more than double the price of a hotel now and you have to do chores? That shit can stay vacant

Maybe it's just me but my issue wasn't just the chores, it's the actual cleaning fees. If the fees are there still what is everyone getting so geeked about?

It’s gross not to do dishes for a week. A hotel doesn’t offer a full kitchen. And the trash need to be taken out. Are the guest just going to let it pile up?

We throw away the trash and run the dishwasher. Everything else is none of my business. That’s what the fuckin cleaning fee is for.

I feel like all this sparked from that one couple being so hyper-critical of each guest. Everyone started pointing out how ridiculous Airbnb has gotten over the years.

Yeah, all this stuff made me switch back to hotels not worth all the BS- and it used to be cost-effective, but definitely not anymore.

If hosts don’t clean rooms, why do they have check in/out times to prepare rooms 🤔
