I worked as a pharmacy tech for CVS for 10 years at several stores. I was never once asked to staff the front end, it was never a thing that happened.

to be clear though, she wasn't a pharmacy technician yet, watching the original video, she was still training and learning within her first two weeks. she was not certified or licensed as a technician.

Pfft. I’m GenX, and I won’t put up with nonsense. I’m not going to the retail side for anything. The pharm tech test is hard. It took me a lot of study to become certified and I’m not wasting that by going to other departments.

theres a lot of jobs that now include "and other duties as needed" and i would constantly get in trouble when i worked at walmart because they kept trying to make me go cashier up front, i was simply too slow for it and didnt know produce codes but they would keep trying and then get mad that i wasnt as fast as they wanted me to be when i would go up there

That's why any time I had an interview I asked about overtime. The answer was almost always the same. "There's plenty of opportunity for overtime but it's not mandatory." And without fail they try to say it's mandatory after they hire you. No the fuck it's not. That is a specific detail that I agreed to when I accepted the position and it's not change.

I only worked front end while I was at CVS when I was free and was called to see if I could help on my day off. We were specifically hired to work as pharmacy technicians especially those of us who came into the job with our PTCB certification already

As a medical assistant I was a floater. I did 5 different jobs in the office but I sure af got paid to do so. I made more than the ones who were just clinical and the ones who were just front staff because they wanted me to be “flexible”. You gotta act your wage. Otherwise they will just take advantage of you.

I'd be pissed too if they forced me up front when I'm supposed to be in the pharmacy! At RiteAid the only reason I was up front was because I wanted more money. I was never required to, but I was trying to save up as much money as I could.
