@doctor.adefunke: EBOLA UPDATE: Here's what deserves your attention! On 20 October 2026, the Federal Government announced a confirmed Ebola case in Abuja. Authorities identified 44 contacts for follow-up. Being listed as a contact means a possible exposure is being investigated; it is not a positive diagnosis. Our response matters. Staying informed, reporting possible exposure and cooperating with health teams can help interrupt transmission. KNOW THE WARNING SIGNS Ebola can begin with fever, marked tiredness, headaches and body pains, tollowed by vomiting or diarrhoea. Bleeding is not always present. Because the early illness can look like other infections, laboratory testing is essential. TAKE PRACTICAL PRECAUTIONS Wash your hands frequently. Avoid touching blood, vomit, stool or other body fluids from anyone suspected of having Ebola, including contaminated clothes and bedding. Leave the handling of contaminated materials and bodies to trained teams with appropriate protection. Early medical care improves the chance of survival. & REPORT EXPOSURE PROMPTLY If you may have been exposed, seek public health advice even if you feel well. If symptoms develop, keep your distance from others and call before going to a health facility. Explain your travel history and any contact with someone who was ill. Save NCDC's toll-free number: 6232, available nationwide, 24 hours a day. SUPPORT CONTACT TRACING If health officials contact you, give accurate information and follow their instructions. Please don't hide a possible exposure because you are afraid of what people will say. And let's make it easier for people to seek help: no shaming patients, targeting travellers or treating everyone in Abuja with suspicion. Before you forward any "urgent health advice," check the source. A confident voice note is not a medical qualification, abeg. Save this post, share it with your family and follow NCDC and your state health authorities for undates
