I think a phone without a SIM card like an old phone would be good for smaller kids to avoid big iPads getting ruined but I don’t believe in actual phones for kids no

i literally got a £30 phone from argos when i was 11 just so i could keep in contact with my mum when i was walking to and from school, thats all thats needed:)

Honestly my daughter is 7 and keeps going on about a phone because her friends have one but it’s just not happening yet. You can’t control what they see these days. Xxx

My mum got me a phone at 8 for Christmas but i only had musical.ly at that time and YouTube and so I could message my mum she properly made sure I couldn’t use other social media but i started walking home at nine and my mum was at uni but i was mainly playing footie in the garden 😂

I think kids from 11 should I have a phone but only for phone calls no Internet so you can know they are safe going to school and then coming home🥰

An 8 year old having a phone isn’t automatically a bad thing. Every family has different circumstances, and responsible parenting is about setting boundaries, not just age limits.

I work in wraparound childcare. I have 4 yr old kids come to me with the newest iPhones. No it's absolutely not ok. They come to us from school and 90% of them ages 4-11 have mobile phones and are watching things that are not appropriate for them. They should not have them until they are at least in high school.

i think the apps are the problem tbh not the phone let your 8 year old have a iphone just go thru it regularly and only allow them to have certain apps
