@votemarysmith: Humility in Leadership: You Can’t Have It Both Ways. Sometimes the hardest person to hold accountable is the one staring back at us in the mirror. Politics has a way of revealing our hearts. We cannot tear down our neighbors with personal attacks and accusations, then cry foul when someone treats our friends or political allies the same way. Respect cannot be conditional. Neither can integrity. True humility begins with examining our own flaws before pointing out those of others. “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.” Philippians 2:3 (KJV) We can disagree without being disrespectful and stand firm in our convictions without compromising our character. Before we demand better from others, perhaps we should first take a good look in the mirror. #ServantLeadership #Humility #Integrity #FaithAndLeadership
