They allege Farwell staged Birchmore's death as a suicide to conceal their ongoing sexual relationship that began approximately 8 years earlier, when Birchmore was a minor. On Tuesday 10/21, jurors heard from Sandra Birchmore's OB-GYN Dr. Priyanka Venkataraman, who testified she was surprised to hear that Birchmore died by suicide. Jessica Katz, an attorney Birchmore contacted with child custody questions, described the 23-year-old as happy and optimistic. And James Fitton, a former Stoughton PD dispatcher testified that he told Farwell about a call from a woman alerting police that he and Birchmore were having an affair. He testified that Farwell became visibly and audibly upset when he learned about the call, and told Fitton to never speak of it ever again.
