i got my friend into the dsmp this year. she didn’t have an ao3 account, she doesn’t have tiktok, and her only previous experience was watching EmpireSMP in middle school. i started her off watching a couple sad-ist animatics (bc i knew she’d love techno), weirdly enough reading a couple fanfics (icing those hurts bc she likes ice skating), and watching the first evanmcgaming recap video. from there she has gone off the deep end 😭😭

learning about the dsmp archive for the first time and am yet again so amazed and impressed with how much work the fandom put in to preserving and codifying these stories ❤️also, I think this is excellent advice for anyone interested. The dsmp wasn't designed to be fit into a linear story style, you can't just make a movie out of it and it's good that you cant because that's what made it special!

Is there any chance if this person has spoke on C! Wilbur’s arcs before and how he progresses as a character? If not could you please do it! It’s okay if not :)

i got into it exactly the way u described, I remember my friends were freaking out in a call on Nov 16th and I was so intrigued by it 😭 so I just started researching and the first stream I caught live was the day before Tommy got exiled and I was so fucking confused 😭😭

Ok, English is not my first language, I hope you can understand me: I have a big project in front of me, a fic that takes the lore of the DSMP to narrate it as a kind of myth, legend or epic poem. But I was having this crisis of not knowing where to start organizing the story to be able to tell it, since being lives and streams and stories not always well written or connected seemed a titanic task, but thanks to you I not only know where to start looking in an organized way but you also gave me an excellent idea of how to start narrating this story, without the weight of having to do it in a chronological order, but seeking to offer this experience of knowing a world, a story through the curiosity generated by its own events, characters and self-references, in this way the writing and reading of the fic will not become heavy because you'll be emulating the experience of the original viewers of this amazing web series, it's going to get more organic. THANK YOU REALLY VERY MUCH

Omg this is actually a very good way to tell people to get into the dsmp. I do feel that this is the best way to put it, because I feel like all fans just got into from a random part and not really the beginning. The dsmp isn’t like a series that you get into from a starting point and follow from there on.
