Ok serious question. My dad just had a major stroke and head trauma from fall. No longer verbal, doesn’t respond to command and is on a peg tube. The doctor just recommended hospice and stopping the feeding tube. What is different in this situation that the same wouldn’t be recommended

My brother was predicted to live a year or two. He passed at 40. The care of his mother kept him thriving and happy.
