I don’t think this is code rot, I heard it was just a chain of bugs that couldn’t reasonably be exploited by a small group of people but was trivialized by AI

This is just a vulnerability…. The method behind the remote code execution has been around for years it just wasn’t exploitable on massive widely used versions of PHP until now (likely due to AI threat hunting). (No source on that other than intuition) for reference I’ve worked in cybersecurity for 8 years now the last 4 of which as a web-app pen tester

Its not code rot its a vulnerability that allows hackers to access sensitive information and perform malicious actions without needing authentication. Its a memory management issue not an issue where the code deprecated
