Geto was one of the very few people that didn't see him as a weapon and instead cared about Gojo as a person deserving of companionship & love. It makes sense why he didn't want to let that go & why it hurt him so much when he was forced to finish killing Geto. In season 3, Yuta says that he refuses to make Gojo kill his best friend again b/c he's one of the few that actually knows how much Suguru Geto means to his sensei.
