@bridgenoland: THE LEADING VILLAIN | Darth Vader — STAR WARS: EPISODE III – REVENGE OF THE SITH (2005) 🖤 Some villains enter a story. Darth Vader enters a room. And somehow everyone immediately knows the evening has taken a turn. The cape. The mask. The mechanical breathing. The voice that sounds like it has already decided how badly this conversation is going to end. Vader does not need much help making an impression. Which is useful, because subtle entrances were never really his thing. For decades, Star Wars has built him as something larger than a conventional antagonist. He is a military commander. An enforcer. A Sith Lord. A walking reminder that the Empire apparently looked at intimidation and decided there was still room for additional branding. But the thing that makes Vader endure is not simply the armor. It is the man trapped inside it. Anakin Skywalker wanted enough power to stop losing the people he loved. Instead, he lost nearly everything and became the very thing everyone else learned to fear. That contradiction follows Vader everywhere. The machinery makes him look almost inhuman. The rage keeps proving otherwise. He can walk into a corridor and become pure nightmare fuel, then carry enough grief under that helmet to turn the entire character back into tragedy. Which makes his birth in Revenge of the Sith almost too perfect. The suit closes. The breathing begins. And the first thing Darth Vader wants to know is whether Padmé is alive. Naturally. Because apparently joining the dark side does not make emotional closure any easier. Hayden Christensen spends the film dismantling Anakin piece by piece. By the time the mask finally seals, Star Wars does not simply reveal a new costume. It reveals the consequence. The hero is gone. The villain is standing. And cinema gets one of its most recognizable monsters. Not bad for a man whose first moments in the suit are immediately ruined by relationship news. 🖤 #RevengeOfTheSith #DarthVader #HaydenChristensen #StarWars #AnakinSkywalker
