@goodandgodly: Faith keeps looking to God even when the surrounding world feels uncertain. “But as for me, I will look to Yahweh. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.” Micah 7:7 Micah chooses watchful hope: he will wait for the God of his salvation because he knows God hears him. Biblical waiting remains alert, prayerful, and confident in God’s character. Turn your attention from fear to the Lord today. What answer are you waiting for with faith? Follow Good & Godly for daily Scripture Shorts that help you wait on God with hope. #Micah77 #BibleVerse #GodHears #GoodAndGodly

The Python Temple of Ouidah in southern Benin is one of the most important Vodun shrines in West Africa. Dedicated to the sacred royal python, it sits in the historic town of Ouidah, directly across from a major Catholic basilica—symbolizing centuries of coexistence between Vodun and Christianity. The temple remains an active spiritual site rather than a museum. In Vodun belief, the python represents Dangbé, a powerful deity associated with fertility, protection, and ancestral guidance. The snakes living in the temple are cared for by priests and treated as living messengers of the spirit world. During ceremonies and annual Vodun festivals, pythons are carried out for blessings, rituals, and healing practices. The temple also reflects the resilience of indigenous religion through the colonial era and the slave-trade period, when Ouidah was a major port. Today, it stands as a symbol of cultural continuity and identity. Visitors may enter the shrine, learn about Vodun practices, and even hold the pythons—an act meant to share in the deity’s protective energy.
