@unpickshow: How dows a moka pot work if the water never boils? Trapped air and vapour push the coffee up, not steam. Half the coffee is out below 70° C, and preheating the water makes it hotter #moka #coffee #howthingswork #learnontiktok
thanks for the explanation. being using this moka pot for years without knowing the mechanics.
would you care to explain why the coffee actually taste better when brewed this way vs percolator?

Finally someone who gets it right. This is why boiling the water in the bottom chamber before brewing doesn't make any sense, and yet you see people swearing by it over and over on the internet.

If your coffee tastes bitter or burnt you should try to start with cold water. If it tastes sour try warmer water. A dark roast need less heat. So trust your taste buts 😂🫶✌️☕️

and that's why when making moka, you fill up the water up to half the relief valve

So if you reverse the security pressure valve that sits in that air pocket and feed high pressure air through it, you would technically be able to make a moka pot cold brew?

Henry Worthing :
maybe that was why mine kept tasting burnt and bitter. I kept it at high heat thinking the water needed to boil

What temperature is the so called vapor and what is it made of? The first explanation is therefore also correct.

water temperature that exits is the same either starting with cold or hot water... the only difference is the time it takes. Pressure is created when the water temp raises, it's not independent...
