@dershpiel: Jewish billionaire Michael Bloomberg is putting about $80 million behind Democrats ahead of the November midterm elections, according to his team. The former New York mayor is helping fund their push to take control of Congress from Republicans. At least $50 million is going toward House races, including $24 million through Everytown for Gun Safety, which he co-founded, and $16 million to House Majority PAC, a group supporting Democratic House candidates. Bloomberg wants Democrats to win enough seats for a solid governing majority, rather than barely crossing the 218-seat threshold needed to control the House.
