@autism.mummy5: Does your autistic child struggle with sleep? My daughter has trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I'd love to know what has worked for other families. Please share your experiences! 💚 #autism #autismcommunity #singleparents
No advice besides give your self the grace to sleep when they do. I use to think I needed to keep going and stay awake for ever because when he wanted to sleep I should be a functioning adult not sleeping. Give yourself the grace to sleep when they sleep. Good luck my son is 11 and we struggle all the time. He also will not take any medications.

Try different sounds. Like a noise machine or even a radio. My son when he was little would only go to bed with the vacuum running. It was chaos but needed to be for him.

melatonin worked for years then stopped working when she was 7. tried several drugs but didn't like the effects of them. (her personality disappeared and she was a zombie) finally tried trazadone for the last 4 months and it's working great.
