I’ve always thought of karma as an endless accumulation of receiving or giving/earning or deserving, and it’s so beyond our scope of complexity that it is not worth hinging personal worth on or the worth of others. A handful of examples doesn’t conclude anything about the collective anymore than a trillion examples in the collective conclude anything of an individual.
