Many of my friends, neighbors, and myself are in the same position where we are taking care of elderly parents. Over the years, I've seen that many elderly do not have that support because family is not around anymore. Maria is very lucky to have you. I feel like your meeting was meant to be and not just by chance.

Molly try to get meals on wheels. It’s a good program not only to feed the elderly but there’s someone checking on her everyday. I heard the kosher meals in NY is better. You are a caring living person. Please remember to take care of yourself too!

Hi Molly, are you able to look into getting a caregiver for Maria?There is an NYC Department of the Aging. Also, look into the Neighborhood Shopp. They offer support to caregivers. May God bless you and keep you! ❤️🙏🏾

Ahhhh .... sending prayers for Maria's speedy and uneventful recovery. Make sure she is drinking plenty of fluids. Especially with a sore throat, it hurts to swallow and easy for her to get dehydrated. Orange juice, chix noodle soup, liquid IV. Also consider humidifier for the room she spends the most time in. Also get a pulse oximeter, very easy to use on the finger, to insure adequate oxygenation. Once she recovers, have her check with her physician and get her annual flu & covid vaccine. Consider RSV vaccine as well. For you ... wear a mask around Maria until she is no longer contagious to you. 🙏🏾❤️

I was my mom’s caregiver for 12 years before she died at age 94. Please make sure Maria is staying hydrated. Old people struggle with this so often. If you can buy her some Gatorade or Pedialyte to keep in her fridge, that might help her. Any juices or teas, hot or cold, are good to stock, as well. Pls remind her to drink! Seems weird, I know. You are a terrific friend to her, Molly. Goodness will always come back to you. 🥰

Maybe make sure she’s taking a vitamin c and probiotic now that it’s cold & flu season. You are such a great person.
