I think he thinks he’s like the voice of reason and wants to bring people together. If he wants to create and independent party that’s great - the time to do that is literally 100% of the time that isn’t a week before midterms. You simply cannot create a third party system with a week to go lol. I’ll believe him when he starts talking about it constantly.

He’s being messy cause the timing is strategic and this is an extremely vulnerable time in politics. Also, if he is doing this to soft launch his independent race it’s even more tone-deaf and further proves he only cares about himself

i wouldn’t be surprised if he at some point tried to run for governor of texas, but it’s interesting to use this as a political launch when he said on last meals just recently that he’s not interested in a political run anytime soon

As a Texan leftist: Like yes I too wish we didn’t have a two party system but as it stands today voting independent can not and will not fix that. But what it *will* do is empower republicans to continue to sentence women and immigrants to literal death.

He’s been putting out feelers for like 5 years now that he’ll run for office as an independent. So this is a good little theater to see if his game plan has any heat. And he’s clearly a narcissist. So there is no thought about how this could impact millions of people’s lives for his own benefit. He’s not a bigger picture thinker in a serious way.
