Hey hun my ex works there and regardless of who or how they passed,the grounds are treated with so much love and respect. Some ppl buried there are also some who possibly died alone during covid and family are just locating them. Many still being found and taken to private cemeteries. It doesn't make anyone there less important. The only lesson I take from that grave site is that noone is better than anyone,at the time of our passing this is where we can all end up. May your loved ones rest in peace.

my dad also passed from AIDS in 1995. my family has him in a shared plot in rural PA with my uncle and grandma my brother was murdered, I have his remains. I myself will likely wind up on Hart Island, or wherever they put me, there won't be anybody left to deal with my burial

I hate that their graves aren’t marked individually, but it is a beautiful resting place. It looks so peaceful. I’m so sorry for the loss of your brother and dad. 🫂 ♥️

In a way at least they’re all together 🥰 Eveeyone buried there is not alone ❤️even though the history is very dark ❤️❤️❤️i know your dad and brother have so many friends there and they can’t wait to rejoice someday in heaven ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing with us. I lost two brothers to overdoses and we’re blessed that they’re buried somewhere I could go visit. It’s really wonderful that you go visit them, but they’re with you in your heart.

I'm sorry for your losses. respectfully, if you are their family member why are they buried there? I thought Hart Island was maily homeless and covid death burials.
