@drdavidmorris: Why does pizza upset your gut if your colonoscopy looks good? People with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis may continue experiencing digestive symptoms around certain foods, even when routine allergy tests are negative. Researchers are investigating whether changes in the gut microbiome could help explain some of these reactions. Certain gut bacteria may help break down dietary components, and inflammation can alter the microbial environment. This raises questions about how gut bacteria, food proteins, and intestinal immune responses interact. The research is still developing. Animal findings and human associations don't prove that missing bacteria are the cause of someone's food sensitivity, and food-related symptoms can have several explanations. If symptoms persist, discuss them with your gastroenterologist. Depending on your condition, a stool test such as fecal calprotectin may help assess intestinal inflammation. Don't reintroduce foods or change your IBD treatment without appropriate medical guidance. 👇 Which food do you find hardest to tolerate: dairy, wheat, or something else? #CrohnsDisease #UlcerativeColitis #IBD #GutMicrobiome #FoodSensitivity #GutHealth #DigestiveHealth #HealthTok #MedicalEducation #murfreesboro #functionalmedicine #magnoliamedicalcenter

So how do you change this? Without going on harmful medications that make it worse?

After colonoscopy my symptoms went away for a good 6 to 8 months. Eventually, all symptoms came back after about an year. Colonoscopy results were fine but I guess the prep for colonoscopy somehow reset my gut microbiome.
