Life is just so expensive right now and I have no idea how we're meant to cope. Worked so much overtime to pay off a payment plan for work on our loft and literally the next week we found out we have dry rot in the living room and repairs will cost £6.5k 🥲 You can work as hard as possible and still end up ten steps back

I feel like a failure for being in my late 30’s and not having any savings or spare cash. My direct debits are at an all time minimum and I am literally just able to get what we need and maybe a bit extra for emergency bits like kids clothes and shoes. Thank god my kids are school age and only have after school club fees to pay. Nursery fees now are a killer!!!
