What do you do when you can’t speak the language? 🚌 On my first bus ride in Samarkand, I had no idea how to pay or where to get off. About five local women noticed I looked confused and helped me figure things out. They kept talking to me throughout the ride, too. I think they were speaking Uzbek or Russian. I couldn’t understand most of it, so I mostly just smiled and tilted my head. 😊? But they kept trying to help. They even told the driver where I was going, and he let me know when it was time to get off. Then came the smiles and goodbye waves. 🤍 I didn’t understand the words, but I definitely felt the kindness. It made me want to keep my earphones off a little more often—and leave a little more room for moments like this. #Samarkand #Uzbekistan #TravelComic #EverydayManga #kindnessofstrangers
