@historyonhistoline: In 1910 Japan annexed Korea, the same year the Mexican Revolution began. Emperor Meiji of Japan was on his throne, and King Chulalongkorn of Siam died with his country still independent. In Mexico, Francisco Madero called for revolt against Porfirio Díaz, and Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata rose. Britain joined four colonies into the Union of South Africa, with most Black South Africans shut out of the vote. And in the Amazon, the rubber boom had built an opera house in the rainforest. This is 1910 on Histoline, a free timeline of world history, side by side. Pin any year: link in bio.
