So why would anyone think that the wedding is about the mother of the groom? Also, why do people think a). Weddings are not expensive b). That the bride and groom want people at the wedding they don’t know. c). Why anybody’s VISION is more relevant than the bride and grooms?

Just make it clear to the venue and send out notices that only those with the official invite from the bride can attend. Anyone with a different invite than the official one will be turned away. Let Joy deal with the fallout of people she invited that are turned away.
