My 1st Proper Vlog Kit - Sony A7C II & 16-35mm G lens ASMR Unboxing // For most of the life of my seven-year-old Sony A7III, it stayed inside the house. I literally couldn't afford to lose it outside; I only had one camera good enough to make a living with. This changes when the next-in-line, the Sony A7V, arrives. Finally, there will be two! But alas, other than being a backup, using the A7III as a constant CAM B, especially one that's meant for outside, comes with some complications. For one, it is stuck at 8-bit 4:2:0, so trying to match colors with the 10-bit A7V would be a hassle. Second, its autofocus leaves something to be desired, making it less suitable for uncontrolled exterior environments. Lastly, and this might seem shallow, its monitor cannot be flipped out to the front, leaving me to guess the framing when I try to film myself. And on top of that, it's not compatible with newer monitoring apps like M&C and Sony Creators' App. And so it was decided to trade it in for a newer, more compact body, the Sony A7C II. I don't have that much to say about it yet, only that it does the things I will need the A7III to do, but can't. Let's circle back to this after around another 7 years, when we've put it through its paces. Joining it is the Sony 16-35mm Power Zoom lens, the no-wire ECM-M1 microphone, and the GP-VPT3 grip with a detachable remote control. Together, they are my first proper vlog kit. Looking at them, it seems I'm now well-equipped to get this vlogging going. Only one thing left to fix, and that is none other than myself.
