@m0nica_anderson: Talking is not the same as agreeing. Leaders of armed states have long kept lines open with rivals precisely because misunderstanding is dangerous, and history has plenty of examples of crises defused by a phone call. Critics worry that engagement confers legitimacy or concedes ground. Supporters answer that diplomacy is how disputes are managed without war, and that refusing to talk rarely produces better terms. The measure of any such contact is what it yields: reduced risk, clearer red lines, and agreements that can be verified. Results will settle the argument better than rhetoric on either side.
Nailed it t ,if the three countries in the world that could end the world are at odds that's not a good thing .But to be honest the Russians and Chinese know the US has tech and weapons years ahead of anything they have .
