Someone who was part of your everyday life, your routines, your happiest memories, and some of your hardest days. And then suddenly, they’re gone. The house feels different. The little things you never thought twice about become painful reminders. And sometimes, even years later, you find yourself missing them just as much as you did in the beginning. When I lost Gunnar, I never imagined that sharing his memories would connect me with so many people going through the same thing. But I’ve read your stories. I’ve seen the names of the dogs you miss. I’ve heard from people who lost theirs yesterday and others who are still grieving decades later. And I’ve realized how many of us are carrying the same kind of love and loss. That’s why I keep sharing. Because sometimes all it takes is seeing someone else’s story to feel a little less alone in your own.
