@blackpearlmassage: Now, I’ve actually never had to do this! But it’s a policy I have in place :) If you’ve chosen to go with a small business, it’s important to keep that spot that you booked. I understand if things come up, but I do have a rule where if it was moved three times by you; you manually rescheduled it - I just canceled the appointment at the third time. Now, if you’re confused how this can happen, I allow these moves if it’s outside of the 24 hour window before the appointment. So, this person that is moving their appointment around, did it maybe 3 days before their appointment or 2 days before their appointment and then keeps moving it to a different day in the future. Even on the first time you reschedule your appointment, a small business owner flags it in their mind. Please don’t be flaky and promise that time that you’ve selected for yourself. If I had a client that was notorious for doing this, they probably would eventually be fired as a client. I also have a policy where if someone decides to reschedule their appointment 24 hours in advance, I just automatically charge $25 to the card on file then and there. Obviously for emergencies, I don’t charge this, but if a client doesn’t realize something in their schedule and needs to move their appointment… As a small business owner it’s not on us to take the fall / brunt of someone’s lack of time management. Just because someone works for themselves, doesn’t mean that you should try to waiver their boundaries and take advantage of them.
