After years of advocacy and bipartisan support, the Chiricahua National Park Act passed the U.S. House of Representatives in March and the Senate in September. Today, President Donald Trump officially signed the legislation into law, making history! This is a HUGE milestone for America’s National Parks! Chiricahua is the first addition to the list of 63 since New River Gorge National Park in West Virginia was designated in December 2020. Originally established as a National Monument in 1924, Chiricahua has protected one of Arizona’s most extraordinary landscapes for more than a century.
