@therapistinrecovery: Intrusive thoughts are not the only way obsessions show up! Take a look at this video as I clearly explain what to do when disturbing images pop up. If this helped you, my online course will be PERFECT for you. How do you do this when the images are so real in the moment of things that could happen (well in my head logical) for example, my son falling out a window because we live in a two story home. I’m terrified that he will fall out a window—and I get the image and the entire scene of the accident plays out in real time in my head. This is just one ex, but I’ve tried to talk to therapist about this and they all just say it’s normal anxiety and never acknowledge OCD possibility, they say to just tell your selves it won’t happen but every rational thought in my brain explains how it could and then I spiral. I even created a list of things that I do that’s OCD like in my phone to try and differentiate between the two. Idk if I should be seeking OCD treatment or just anxiety?
