This week, flu cases are creeping up just a little, but there’s something else spreading even faster… MISINFORMATION! 📱 If you grew up in the South, chances are your grandmother had plenty of health advice: Don’t go outside with wet hair! Don’t swallow your gum! And don’t forget to put on your shoes or you’ll catch a cold! Bless her ❤️ , Grandma meant well. But just because advice comes from someone we love and trust doesn’t mean it’s scientifically accurate. These days, misinformation spreads faster than ever, and it can be hard to separate fact from fiction—especially when it comes to our children’s health. Before you like, share, or act on health information, ask yourself: 🔎 WHO is sharing this? Are they qualified? 🚩 WHY does this make me feel scared, angry, or suspicious? 📚 WHERE is the evidence? Does the science actually support the claim? 🔁 IS IT TRUE, or have I just heard it so many times that I believe it? Remember, misinformation isn’t always shared with bad intentions, but our kids deserve good information, not just good intentions.
