What isn't working for reflux: the ever-growing list of foods you're not allowed to eat. The list doesn't fix your LES, your timing, or the tissue damage that's already happened. Here's what does work for the people I work with. 1. The LES. Your lower esophageal sphincter (the valve between your stomach and esophagus) is the barrier. When it's under-supported, food choice matters far less than people think. In a Mayo Clinic RCT, LES pressure rose during diaphragmatic breathing and reflux events after a meal dropped. We use that same breathing (ribs expanding 360 degrees), along with specific positioning, to restore pressure to that valve. 2. The 3-Hour Buffer. Stop food 3 hours before lying down (drinks are fine). A full stomach, gravity and a tired LES add up to reflux whether the meal was

Stop food 3 hours before lying down (drinks are fine). A full stomach, gravity and a tired LES add up to reflux whether the meal was "safe" or not. 3. Support for the tissue. The throat and esophageal lining need active support while everything else does its job. This is where I use @SequoiaSoothe, the mucosal support supplement I formulated with DGL, zinc carnosine, slippery elm and L-glutamine working together. When these three are in place, the food list tends to get shorter on its own, because the mechanism is finally supported. Shop on my TikTok Shop. If a caption isn't enough support, 1:1 spots are open for U.S.-based clients at mollypelletier.com.
