As a foster parent, i want you to know that we are all so proud of you. We all hope for a parent like you who fight for them, show up, make the changes, and truly understand that the children are the most important. You can do this and we know it’s not easy but your kids will forever appreciate you changing 🩷❤️‍🩹 hang in there!

Child who was in foster care, turned into CPS social worker here. My parent fighting for me and getting better/stable- far overshadowed any of the selfish decisions made prior. ❤️It absolutely does change you/them-but also, I want to commend you for accountability. You have nothing but the future ahead to continue showing up and loving your kids, being the best parent you can! Much strength to you 🫶🏼

CPS worker here.... this is the most insightful statement I have heard in a long time. remember this, mistakes don't define you, tomorrow and every day after that does!

As a former CPS worker and now CPS supervisor… I’m sorry this delay was because of the report not getting done on time… that’s not ok. I also want to say how incredibly proud I am of you for the work you’ve done to get to this point. To have the insight that the ones who are impacted the most are your kids… is something so many parents can’t understand. You’re doing amazing and I hope the next hearing goes better. 🖤

As a CPS worker and a foster care worker… we all pray to work with parents like you. It is so rare for us to see parents admitting to their faults or recognizing how their actions impact their children. Everyone is so quick to blame CPS or others! But most of us that work in CPS and or foster care.. truly care about each child, each family we work with and we want yall to succeed and be together! You recognizing your own role in this, shows you have put in the work! You are so close!! Keep your head up!!! We are rooting for you!!🩷

The amount of growth and self awareness it takes to admit this to yourself is so admirable. Your kids are so lucky to have you. They are going to have an AMAZING version of you for the rest of their childhood. It’s their dream and you’re making it come true. Keep going we are all rooting for you ❤️❤️❤️

The only thing they can hate you for is not changing. Be proud of yourself for figuring it out. There’s a small percentage that do and your kids may be different but they also still need you and you realized that. It’s never too late.

Watching my parents heal themselves and make better choices truly was healing. We might make big mistakes but one day your kids will be able to look back and see how hard you worked to change and do better ✨ you got this 💕

My kids were in foster care for a year. They have been home with me for four years this Christmas. They are happy, healthy and full of life. There is definitely a win out of getting them home. It may take time, it may take therapy, but things will be okay. 🧡

They take long to finish a report but quik to take a child away smh. You are going to be okay. Don't rush it but also document how they are failing to do their job. Look into it more.

This is my first impression of you & lemme say in the most genuine possible way how awesome it is for you to have such beautiful self awareness of the situation & seeing different perspectives! It’s SO HARD to look inside ourselves as mothers when situations like this arise esp because of the heaviness of that kind of guilt, shame, etc we inflict upon ourselves for the way we ended up changing the trajectory of our children’s lives forever. BUT THIS IS GROWTH!! You are becoming EXACTLY who your kids need, and who you were ALWAYS MEANT TO BE!! Keep that chin up!!

As a prior caseworker; this is the kind of mentality we admire so much. This shows you did the hard work, you learned and you grew. These are the thoughts that make us more confident in kids being less likely to return to the system

I was a victim of domestic violence, because my children were in the home the police notified cps. I don’t have a criminal record. I don’t smoke, drink , do drugs. I am an attentive mother all my children are in school and I do it all. They have beds, clothes , toys, food. I never in the 10 years at that time of being a mother had dealt with CPS never. I always had admired cps and foster parents. So when the CPS worker came to my door I let her in. I showed her around . She talked to my kids alone. Then she talked to me. She asked me where my son’s father was. I told her he abandoned me when I was pregnant. I did it on my own she literally started crying because he left us. It was so bizarre and unprofessional. Then she tried to accuse my children of lying she called the liars. I got upset but kept my cool. Then she wants me to sign a voluntary care plan because I’m being accused of neglect. I’m taken a back I start crying because I’ve never neglected my children she blamed me for my abusers actions even though I called the cops I asked for help . I never had a run in or multiple police calls or anything. I was already traumatized and they traumatized me again then she said the police report mentioned a gun. We had no guns , I never owned a gun . I realize the police wrote the report wrong and they made it seem way worse than it was. So while she’s explaining the voluntary care plan she gets to a page that as I’m reading says my children have to get physically checked by county doctors, I’m not allowed in, they have to see psychiatrist and speak with all these specialists. I told her can I just get the physically and mentally examined at Kaiser with their primary care doctors and team. If you live in Southern California you know Kaiser permanente has the best doctors, best specialist compared to the county. So in my mind it just made sense for my children to have the best. When she said no. I realized that this plan wasn’t a care plan it was a way for her to take my children to based specialist that she has worked with for decades, who know her and she would have private information about my children that they would have full control over. I went back to every
