When I was 18 a guy picked me up for a date and then once I was in his car he said ‘you know what I’m not hungry’ then he took me to the woods and started touching me, I said stop and only after he almost fully removed my clothes did he stop, never letting a guy pick me up for a date again until I know him.

Not only is a meet up in public rule a good idea for a first date, I also advise going dutch on the first date so there’s no expectation of transactional sex. I justify it by saying it takes the pressure off so you can get to know someone. If a man insists on paying for the first date when the go dutch policy is explained, it may be a red flag.
