Babe I absolutely adore you but please lengthen your nail journey and don’t use it. It’s not the HEMA, it’s the formula as a whole. Many pros have developed this allergy with 0 flooding. Undercured product will continue to leech into your skin every time you get your hands wet. For some people it’s taken 10 years for some it took 10 times. It’s not worth the risk. There are many other brands that are just as affordable and way better formulated. I do appreciate that you explain the risks and aren’t giving people a false sense of security but with this brand it’s really not “just user error.”

I would make a bet that 90% of contact dermatitis from beetles is from people under curing their gel with a flash cure or cheap lamp.

The problem with Beatles also is that people have been reading the ingredients and it doesn’t have enough monomer to fully cure even if it looks cured that’s the main issue people have with the brand

Beetles’ polishes do not cure at the molecular level, so even if you don’t get it on your skin & use a good lamp, you can definitely get it.

thank you for this bc I had a "nail tech" tell me that I will get contact dermatitis from beetles. she was very adamant about it too.

Unfortunately beetles do not have enough chemicals to fully cure

This is just informative: products with high Hema content put the user at a higher risc of an allergic reaction. Also, popping off your nails, even if it's been a long time since you did them, or letting them on till they pop usually ends up taking very thin layers of nail out. The nail gets thinner and thinner and the product that you put on your nail next time can sip into the nail bed through the nail. And that can also cause an alergic reaction. That kind of allergic reaction will make you natural nail detach from your nail bed. I don't recommend AT ALL popping off nails. That's a high risk. Just stay safe. Minimize risks.

Based on the few safety data sheets people have managed to get from beetles, their gels didn't have enough photoinitiators, meaning that no matter how careful you are you run the rush of the gel not curing. it's not about hema.

is not just hema. it's really the photoinititiatotrs or the compounds that cause polymerization. you also can get an allergy from not using the proper lamp. as a professional drop the beetle's, regardless of safety in application their formula is unsafe

What gel brands/products are better? Or like ones that have less hema?

It’s not just Hema babe. It’s the contact dermatitis you can get from uncured gel, that can take one time or a thousand to happen, and will destroy your skin barrier. Beetles gel polish is known to have issues actually fully curing even when it appears cured, which means every time your skin touches your painted nails you’re risking gel exposure.

I have been using Beetles products for years and never had any issues. There are hair products that people swear by, but they cause my hair to fall out. If something works for you great, if not then that doesn't mean it won't for someone else. Be smart when using anything whether it's nails, hair etc, and move on. Many of those "cases" were clear user error, or people had a bad experience, and should stick to another brand.

thank you for replying and being informative and not taking my comment as an attack on you. I developed a gel allergy and just wanna spread the word, not to beetles but to a cheap Amazon brand that I wish I never used and I wish I knew not to use and why
