@hightidesalonandsuites: At the Hightide Salon + Suites, sustainability is not simply a buzzword; it’s a key steering principle that touches so much more than folks may realize! Here’s a quick glimpse into our sustainable initiatives: ♻️Reducing Waste: Our ongoing partnerships with @Green Circle Salons and @raleighcleanup help us work toward our goal of being a completely zero-waste salon. This year to date, our salon has recovered 1,383.5 lbs of beauty waste, including 196 lbs of hair clippings, 43.5 lbs of excess hair color, 312 lbs of plastic, 8 lbs of plastic, 622.5+ lbs of metals, and 205 lbs of single use items. ♻️ Minimizing Carbon Emissions: We order our supplies in bulk to minimize deliveries to the salon. When folks purchase products through our website, we offer in-salon pickup only and do not ship product a second time to its purchaser. ♻️ We stock only Eco-friendly Haircare and Scalp Care Brands: @cultandking, OWAY , and @evo hair all have initiatives to minimize or eliminate the use of plastics in their packaging, are also free of parabens and toxins, and have impeccable ingredient sourcing practices. Our providers would never use products on our clients that we did not feel comfortable using on ourselves! ♻️ Reusable Materials for Guest Amenities: We use glassware for our client beverage service, and reusable towels in our restrooms. No disposable materials here! We also use eco-friendly detergents! ♻️ Plants Everywhere! If you’ve been to our salon, you’ve seen our gorgeous plants throughout our common spaces and suites! We have had the best time propagating these plants and sharing them with our clients! It’s our reminder that we’re rooting for you! ♻️ Creative Reuse: We repurpose glass OWAY bottles from our backbar to give them new life! We have been putting our plant propagations into them, and since we recently ran out of propagations (a great problem to have!), we’ll be making homemade candles in our extra bottles from this month onward.
