@last_transmission1: Chelsea existed because Stamford Bridge needed a football club. That sounds backwards, but it’s literally how the story began. The ground opened long before Chelsea existed. Fulham were offered the stadium and said no. So instead of abandoning the idea, the men behind Stamford Bridge created a club of their own. Chelsea Football Club was born in 1905. Then came the first players, the first matches, 67,000 people packing Stamford Bridge, George “Gatling Gun” Hilsdon, promotion to the First Division — and eventually London’s first top-flight derby against Woolwich Arsenal. This is Chelsea before the trophies, before the global brand, before the badge became famous. This is **BEFORE THE BADGE: CHELSEA.** Which club should I do next? #ChelseaFC #lasttransmission #FootballHistory #BeforeTheBadge #StamfordBridge

The craziest part for me is that Stamford Bridge came first… and Chelsea were basically created because the stadium needed a team. What club has the best origin story in football? 👀
