Seems very... strange... I think it's worth bringing up because if anything is being taken, it should clearly be mentioned to the user. Maybe the way it's trying to work around a clear barrier, it should be brought up to the vrchat devs.

the only reason they collected your username was because of moderation. like people making inappropriate usernames. your username wouldn't be collected if you didn't sign up for an in-game account which is optional. now their privacy notice in game to fully understand when sign up.

I just gotta state that no mofo in VRChat should be going after Popcorn Palace for any reason. Popcorn Palace is the only reason why I continue staying on VRChat. watching movies and shows with my friends and boyfriend is the best escape for me. I will go Ape shit if Popcorn Palace goes poof.

You all know that most worlds you enter do the same thing... right? it's Vrchat data, it's what tells the world what your account has. if you go into your recent movies, you see those movies you've been watching. same thing with Jars world. you have all of your saved data from how many wins in murder you have. it's all the same thing. you guys are getting so worked up over nothing.

for those of you that are curious as to why this is a concern: 1. the first reason is bandwagon people who dont know what they're talking about being scared/fearmongered for no reason. 2. it does serve a principle if they are being sketchy about gathering information about you then what else could they be gathering or attempt to gather in the future. its just a lack of integrity. (note: by having the mandatory 'allow untrusted urls' setting enabled for this world is consenting to this.) 3. knowing your username can* open up opportunity for further breaches such as avatar ripping via webhook or etc. this is the simplest way to put it. disclaimer: its nothing new that the internet doesnt already do to you and you are generally protected against this... just always remember that a lock does not keep people out. it keeps honest people honest.
