@chloethorpaws: His wife’s last message said, “Are you OK? I want to go home.” Years later, Yasuo Takamatsu was still searching for her. On March 11, 2011, Yuko Takamatsu disappeared when a tsunami overwhelmed the bank rooftop where she and colleagues had taken shelter in Onagawa, Japan. After searching on land for more than two years, Yasuo began learning scuba diving in 2013, at age 56, to search underwater. He has since completed hundreds of dives. A BBC documentary released in July 2026 accompanied him on his 763rd dive. Yuko had still not been found. His search is for her remains, hoping to finally bring her home. Behind every dive is someone he loved—and a goodbye he has never been able to give. #YasuoTakamatsu #JapanTsunami #Onagawa #EnduringLove #GriefAndLoss
