I didn’t know this when I was his age but I know now that there’s a lot of good wasps out there that rarely sting. One I have locally collects widow spiders, builds a nest with them and lays eggs and the babies have all those widows to feast on. There’s a mud pile just above me full of dead widows packed in mud and wasp eggs. I’m not disturbing them

There was a wasp flying around my living room window the other day. My kids were freaking out and one of my cats was trying to get to it. So I grabbed some roach spray and sprayed it while it was on the blinds. I watched that wasp slowly stop moving and his little wings stop flickering… 🥺 I felt so terrible. I literally was choking up and thinking how could I have done that?!
