Flight attendant here…. I agree with you!! That would be a HARD NO from me as well. Sometimes couples get separated due to various reasons. Deal with it. Quit bugging other passengers. End of story.

Has anyone considered that the husband made the travel plans, chose the seats he wanted, and told his wife that there was some sort of mixup instead of admitting to her that he didn’t want to sit with her? 🤔

My husband was on a flight seated next to a random woman. A man came back and asked him to switch seats so he could sit next to his girlfriend. He gave my husband his First class ticket so he could sit in coach with his girlfriend. That is the only acceptable way to switch. You don’t ask somebody to take a lower level seat to switch with you - ever. It was rude of her to ask you to switch into a middle seat.
