@swolegreeklifter: North Carolina Students March to Early Voting Site After Campus Locations Are Denied GREENSBORO, N.C. — More than 100 students from North Carolina A&T State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro marched to an off-campus early voting location on Thursday, the first day of early voting in North Carolina, according to WFDD. The Guilford County Board of Elections had rejected requests for on-campus early voting sites at both universities, even though such sites were available in 2024. Students responded by organizing a march to the nearest early voting location at Union Square. A&T students walked approximately 45 minutes in 85-degree heat. Portions of the route had missing or obstructed sidewalks, requiring some participants to walk in the street. Upon arrival, the line extended outside the building. A UNC Greensboro freshman who joined the group after class said it was her first time voting and that she wanted to ensure her voice was heard. Student organizer Xavier Jones said that regardless of the distance, “we will organize. We will march.” The march was organized after the change in polling-site locations.
