That line about duplicating expenses is the part people miss most. A stipend is only tax free if you are actually paying for a home somewhere else too. I keep a lease and a utility bill in my name, so I can show it if anyone asks.

So basically the tax free stipend needs to be able to cover your at home expenses & that helps you decide if the assignment is worth it? Looking to start traveling. What do you do for health insurance? Do you go through the agency?

I HATE that majority of travel nurses now don’t duplicate. I get hate for being bothered bc it “doesn’t affect me”. It does though. No way any nurse duplicating is taking a contract for $1700/week.
