@swishbreaks: He’s collecting baseball cards of his dad so his three sons can keep a piece of their grandpa. ❤️⚾ Mike Sadek Jr.’s father spent his entire major league career catching for the San Francisco Giants. But growing up, Mike mostly knew baseball as the thing that took Dad away on road trips. In 1981, Sadek retired from playing to take custody of Mike and his sister. Watching games together afterward helped his son fall in love with baseball. Years later, his grandsons knew him through daily phone calls and monthly breakfasts. He’d meet the family halfway rather than have them make the winding drive to his mountain home. When he died in 2021, those conversations and visits were deeply missed. Now Mike is assembling PSA-graded Topps cards of his father to pass down to his boys.
