@mr.paidsocial: Four questions help me think about what I want from work. Money, fun, challenge and comfort are the four areas in this personal framework. Each can matter, and too much emphasis on one can leave something else missing. I use the idea to think about a project more clearly, not to pretend there is one perfect balance for everyone. Here is a way to put that into practice: 1. Look at the money. Be honest about what the project needs to contribute and whether the work supports the practical requirements of your life and business. 2. Look at the fun. Notice what you enjoy doing and whether there is enough of that in the work to keep it meaningful beyond the payment. 3. Look at the challenge. A useful stretch can be engaging, while constant unfamiliarity can become exhausting; consider what kind of challenge you want. 4. Look at the comfort. Familiar work can provide stability, but a role that never changes may also leave you bored. Ask which part feels true for you. 5. Compare the tradeoffs before deciding. You do not need identical scores in all four areas; the point is to make the reasons for your choice visible. The four-question review is in this description. Try it on a project you are considering and use your own priorities to interpret the answers.
