for anybody curious there is a DBT approach to substances replacing (emotion mind) + (logic mind) = (wise mind) ---- with ----- (addict mind) + (clean mind) = (clear mind). we can absolutely engage in nuance with substances (it's usually others that struggle with that dialectic)

how do you handle yours? i feel so hopeless recently. i try to change my negative habits caused by bpd but i keep going back to them even when i don’t mean to or think of it, and it’s ruining my close relationships.
