@stephanie_misanik: "Just tell me what labs to get for hormone replacement therapy." It's the DM I get most, and the lab list alone won't get you there. Labs are one small part of the answer. You also need a comprehensive evaluation: your symptoms, your history, your cycle, your sleep, your stress, how you eat and how you train. And labs are only as good as the person reading them. If your provider doesn't know what optimal estradiol, progesterone and testosterone look like, a perfect lab order still goes nowhere. The training gap is real. In a survey of 177 family medicine, internal medicine and OB/GYN residents, only 6.8% felt adequately prepared to manage menopause. What I recommend instead: work with a clinical team that actually has experience managing root cause care and hormone replacement therapy. Look for providers who: Give you appointments that last a full hour, not a rushed visit. Order comprehensive lab work, not a single hormone level. That's the model I'm building at Nava: longer appointments, more diagnostics and measured outcomes. Click the link in my bio to join Nava. Our discounted intake bundle is $249 and includes 70+ labs, 1 hour with a medical provider and 1 hour with a licensed nutritionist. Our medical providers and licensed nutritionists have over 13 years of experience in hormones and root cause medicine. Source: Kling JM, et al.
